Textile and Garment Industry in Vietnam:
More than 7,000 enterprises (excluding small enterprises), 15% of which are foreign-owned;  employs more than 2.8 million working population, account for 10% of the national industrial production;
Exports reached $37 billion in 2018;
One of the world's top three exporters of ready-made garments.

Citing a study by financial analyst Numura, the biggest winner from the trade war is Vietnam, with 26 of the 52 companies that have moved out choosing to locate there, 11 to Taiwan and eight to Thailand. Moreover, Vietnam is now in the midst of a "demographic dividend", with an average age of just 29. This makes the textile and garment industry labor market in quantity and quality increased substantially, for the rapid development of textile and garment enterprises inject impetus.
In terms of policies, the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which took effect in 2019, and the free trade Agreement signed between the European Union and Vietnam are new opportunities for Vietnam to promote the export of textiles and clothing and realize the economic growth of this industry.
The 33rd Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition, held at the SECC Pavilion in Ho Chi Minh City from July 27 to July 30, has come to a successful conclusion. Even in the midst of the epidemic, according to the organizer's statistics, the four-day exhibition still attracted about 20,000 visitors, a total of 271 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions such as Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and so on, among which more than 100 exhibitors from China. The exhibition site gathered textile machinery, sewing machinery, clothing fabrics, clothing accessories, textile yarns and other exhibits.
 

The Vietnam Textile Machinery Exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Industry & Trade of Vietnam, the Vietnam National Textile and Clothing Group (VINATEX), With the full support of the Vietnamese Garment and Ingredients Association (VITAS) and the Ho Chi Minh City Woven Rust Association (AGTEK)
Since 1990, it has been successfully held 33 times in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and has become one of the famous exhibitions in Vietnam. Vietnam is also the only UFI recognized (international exhibitors quality assurance) textile and clothing industry exhibition. SAIGONHTEX is the largest textile and clothing industry exhibition in Vietnam, with an exhibition area of more than 30,000 square meters, attracting more than 1,000 exhibitors from 23 countries/regions. SAIGONHTEX has won high praise from exhibitors and has maintained steady growth in recent years.
