Market introduction
Market Background:
Iran, inheriting the legacy of the ancient Persian Empire, stands as the second-largest economy in the Middle East and North Africa region. Positioned at the heart of West Asia, it is renowned as the "bridge between East and West" and the "transcontinental corridor." With a rich history, diverse culture, and profound religious traditions, Iran follows closely after Saudi Arabia. It boasts a substantial population, abundant natural resources, and has been gradually bolstering its strength. As one of the world's largest oil reserves, it possesses strategic resources such as abundant oil, natural gas, and copper.

Iran holds a significant position in the textile industry in the Middle East region, employing approximately 280,000 individuals nationwide in the textile sector. The main centers of Iran's textile industry are situated in provinces and cities like Isfahan, Yazd, Gorgan, and Shiraz. It was formerly a major producer of textiles in the Persian Gulf region, with about 1.2 million people engaged in textile and carpet weaving. Persian carpet weaving is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, beautiful patterns, vibrant colors, and has a long history and global reputation, with many exquisite carpets considered as prized collections worldwide.

As a country with a population exceeding 80 million, Iran has long been subjected to sanctions, resulting in relatively slower overall development, yet the market demand remains substantial. China's primary advantage in this market lies in its comparatively affordable prices, which are favorable for Iran given its lower industrial capacity. This factor presents an appealing choice. With the advancement of the "Belt and Road Initiative" combined with Iran's demand for products, Chinese products are expected to gain a larger market share in Iran.

China has consistently maintained its position as Iran's largest trading partner for ten consecutive years. It serves as Iran's top trading partner, the largest destination for exports, the second-largest source of imports, and a significant source of foreign investment. Simultaneously, Iran is among China's major markets for overseas engineering contracts, complete sets of equipment, and technological exports, as well as a crucial destination for investment and a source of crude oil imports.
