Bangkok Textile Market
The textile and garment industry is one of Thailand's largest manufacturing sectors, comprising 5,000 factories and employing one million people, accounting for nearly 20% of the entire manufacturing workforce. Additionally, its GDP accounts for 17% of Thailand's total GDP. With an annual export value exceeding $7 billion, it stands as Thailand's second-largest export sector. Clothing exports represent 55% of this figure, placing Thailand at the 13th position among global clothing exporters, commanding a 2% share of the worldwide market, while textile exports rank 14th globally. The United States stands as Thailand's largest buyer, accounting for one-third of Thailand's total exports, with clothing making up more than half, followed by the European Union, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Middle East.

Thailand's textile industry encompasses the entire production chain from fibers to finished garments. Although Thailand doesn't produce textile raw materials, it manufactures numerous synthetic fibers, forming a comprehensive industry chain inclusive of fibers, spinning, weaving, knitting, bleaching, dyeing, printing, finishing, and the production of garments and household textiles. Across the country, there are 18 synthetic fiber processing plants, 154 spinning mills, 673 weaving mills, 675 knitting mills, and 414 dyeing factories. Furthermore, there are 2,658 clothing companies, excluding small-scale factories with only 20 sewing machines. In terms of equipment, Thailand possesses 3.67 million spindles, 130,000 looms, with 50-50% shuttleless looms, 110,000 modern knitting machines, and 758,000 sewing machines.

In recent years, with the advancement of the EEC policy, "bio-cycle" green environmental technology has gradually become a new trend in the textile manufacturing industry. Thailand's medical textile market is also experiencing an upward trend, with many manufacturers shifting towards producing medical textiles that meet international standards. Numerous factories engaged in medical textile production have adopted standards such as those of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and ISO, manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, antibacterial, antiviral fabrics, among other products categorized as new product lines, leading to an increased demand for products like MediTex and MedicalTex.
